what is concussion substitution?

After the incident of Phil Hughes ICC try to make rule on concussion substitution.That substitution rule was firstly introduced by cricket Australia.Cricket Australia apply this rule in their domestic cricket,men and women big bash league from 2017.After the trial period ICC approves the rule for international cricket also and the rule will active from august 1,2019.

According to that rule if any player got injured or concussed in the match and if he will ruled out of the game than a concussion substitution came in action the team will replace that player with another player and the substituted player will bat and bowl also.The substitution will be 'LIKE-A-LIKE' substitution.

Marnus labuschagne will become the first concussion substituted player.He substituted steve smith in 2nd ashes test match played at lords.Steve smith got injured by jofra archer's deadly bouncer hit on his head on day 4 but he came to play on the same day.On next day of the match (day 5) he was not fit to play and ruled out of the match that's the reason marnus labuschagne substituted him according to Like-a-like substitution.
