ICC TEST CHAMPIONSHIP :-
The ICC committee officially launched the first ever WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP(WTC). In this championship top 9 teams will participate.In this championship the all team will be given points for winning,tie and draws each match in the test series.which two team have more points will play final at llords in june 2021.The championship starts with Ashes series starting between Australia and England from august 1,2019.
how many teams are participating?
Top nine(9) teams in ICC ranking will become the part of this championship.And these teams are:-
INDIA
ENGLAND
AUSTRALIA
NEW ZELAND
SRI LANKA
BANGLADESH
WEST INDIES
SOUTH AFRICA
PAKISTAN
how many matches will be played?
The match will be like normal bilateral series but now the importance of every match will be more.The match will be day or day night both depend on the consent of the boards.In this very first championship total 27 series and 71 matches will be played.
minimum and maximum no. of matches in a series?
The teams must have play series against 6 teams.The minimum no. of matches is 2 and maximum is 5 in a series.teams have to play three home and three away series in this championship.
how points will be given?
The no. of points will depend upon the no. of matches in a series.The distribution of points are following:-
